Mt. Horeb Homes
Mt. Horeb is a community located approximately 14 miles west of Madison and 17 miles west of the University of Wisconsin. Access to Mt. Horeb is via State Hwy 18/151. The Village was incorporated in 1899 and had a population count in 2009 of over 6800 people.
Mount Horeb has an excellent school system including an early learning center for Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, the Mt. Horeb Primary Center for grades 1 and 2, Mt Horeb Intermediate School for grades 3 – 5, Mt. Horeb Middle School serving grades 6 - 8 and Mr. Horeb High which has over 600 students in grades 9 - 12. Docken Field Airport, a single runway airport services the City.
The City has a full time police department and a 65 member volunteer fire and EMS force protecting 13000 people in the 132 sq. mile area in and surrounding the City of Mount Horeb. The Village is run by a board consisting of six elected Trustees and a Village President. The Village President, Village Trustees, and Municipal Judge are elected for two-year terms.
